M&E training
QualDATA provides tailored monitoring and evaluation training for organisations and program or project teams to provide them with an understanding and the tools needed to undertake data collection and reporting. The emphasis is on demonstrating how this can help them in their work – rather than adding and unnecessary layer of work. Courses relate directly to the projects in which the participants are engaged.
“The creation of our NRAS Unit Program and Project Logic, then overlaying the MER processes, was a major breakthrough for us. Gordon Stone and Jeff Coutts from QualDATA engaged our staff, then helped to develop a logical reporting system that satisfied our many external and internal clients. By allowing each staff member to contribute to every aspect of the MER, we were able to work through the double and triple reporting (in one case five external reporting mechanisms). We created staff workplans aligned to the Program Logic and a reporting mechanism which streamlined staff individual workloads. In the end the MER processes operated across our many workplans and projects, reduced the work load, yet still created a system which achieved our desired outcomes.”

“I recently attended the QualDATA Strategic Market Research and Evaluation Workshop aimed at national RD&E organisations including CRCs. I wanted to get a better understanding of project evaluation processes and a feel for how the National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture (NCEA) could provide a higher level of service on project delivery. The workshop clearly demonstrated that with up-front planning, information can be easily and routinely collected that will show the positive impact of our R&D. It also showed us how we can change our project planning so that, not only can we demonstrate the impacts of our work better, but also raise the bar a little higher in terms of our R&D processes and delivery of outcomes”.
